The explosive growth of almost 350% in the prices of the manganese ore between 2007 and 2008 heated up the market and foment new investments in exploration.
Brazil is the second largest producer of manganese in the world and the big part of the production is destined to the foreign market.
Cone Mine Exploration disposed of manganese exploration’s areas located in the State of Minas Gerais, where there is the possibility of the production’s absorption by the local siderurgy industry, as well as the exportation through the ports of Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.
Cone has in the present time four manganese ore’s area, being two in Espinhaço Mountain Range, one in southeast of the Iron Quadrangle and one near the border of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.
